Terem Moffi Makes Emotional Return After Lengthy Injury Layoff – Set for Nantes Clash

Super Eagles’ Terem Moffi Celebrates Return To Football

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has finally made his long-awaited return to action for OGC Nice after nearly a year on the sidelines due to a serious knee injury.

The 24-year-old came off the bench in Nice’s 2-1 defeat to Monaco on Saturday, marking his first appearance since suffering a cruciate ligament injury during pre-season. Moffi replaced Baptiste Santamaria in the 82nd minute, getting a crucial eight-minute runout as he begins his journey back to full fitness.

His road to recovery has been grueling, with eight months of intense rehabilitation and relentless work behind the scenes. Overwhelmed with emotion after his return, Moffi took to 𝕏 to express his gratitude, simply posting, “Thank you, God.”

The Nigerian forward resumed light training in February before gradually reintegrating into the first team this month. Nice’s medical staff have been cautious with his comeback, ensuring he avoids any setbacks while rebuilding his match sharpness.

Moffi is now eyeing more minutes when Nice face Nantes this Friday, as he aims to regain his top form and help his club push for a UEFA Champions League spot.

Since joining Nice from Lorient in January 2023, Moffi has been a key player, scoring 20 goals and providing 5 assists in 52 appearances. His return is a major boost for Les Aiglons as they battle for European qualification.

Welcome back, Terem! 🇳🇬⚽
