Amokachi Backs Tammy Abraham’s Move To Besiktas, Ahanor Joins Lookman At Atalanta

Nigerian-born England international, Tammy Abraham, has completed a loan move from AS Roma to Turkish giants Besiktas.
Tammy Abraham’s loan move includes a €2 million net loan fee for the 2025–2026 season and an option to make the deal permanent for €13 million, paid in instalments through to 2030.
After the completion of the move, Super Eagles of Nigeria legend Daniel Amokachi made his interest in the deal public, having previously played for Besiktas.
Amokachi, who scored 25 goals and assisted 23 more in 112 appearances for the Turkish club during his four-year stint, expressed his excitement over the move in an interview with Süperbahis.
The former Lobi Stars’ coach urged Tammy Abraham to be the next Black Bull, a nickname the retired footballer earned while at the Turkish side.
“Tammy, I see the potential in you to become the next Black Bull.
“You can count on that. This season is going to be something special,” Amokachi said.
Abraham is a product of Chelsea’s youth academy. The 2021 UEFA Champions League winner has also played for Aston Villa, AC Milan, and AS Roma.
While Tammy prepares to shine in Istanbul, another young Nigerian talent has joined a new club.
Sixteen-year-old defender Honest Ovonranwen Ahanor has signed for Atalanta from Serie A rivals Genoa.
Ahanor, who made headlines last season by becoming the first player born in 2008 to play in the Serie A, made his full debut against Juventus and went on to appear in six top-flight matches.
Atalanta confirmed his signing on Friday, noting his eligibility to represent Nigeria.
“Born on February 23, 2008, in Aversa to Nigerian parents, Honest joined Genoa’s youth sector when he was still a child,” the club wrote on its official website.
The highly rated left-footed defender joins fellow Nigerian star Ademola Lookman at the Bergamo-based club.
