Transfer Updates: Luis Diaz, Nicolas Jackson, Xhaka, Williams, Others

The summer transfer window is heating up across Europe, with major clubs pushing hard to reinforce their squads ahead of the new season.

From Bayern Munich’s chase for Luis Diaz to Manchester United’s long transfer target list, here is a breakdown of the latest confirmed moves, negotiations, and targets.

Bayern Munich Step Up Pursuit of Luis Diaz

Bayern Munich are aggressively pursuing a deal for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, even as Barcelona continue to list the Colombian as their top transfer target.

According to BILD via Sport, Diaz has already spoken with Bayern manager Vincent Kompany via video call in what was reportedly a positive conversation. The 27-year-old is open to joining the German champions if they can reach an agreement with Liverpool.

So far, however, Bayern’s attempts have hit a wall. Their latest bid of €67.5 million was rejected, following an earlier turned-down offer. The Bundesliga side are preparing a new proposal exceeding €70 million, including add-ons.

Barcelona previously failed with an approach in June, and despite missing out on Nico Williams, they remain interested in Diaz. Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the player remains “open to a move,” with a potential Liverpool signing of Alexander Isak from Newcastle possibly influencing their willingness to negotiate.

Still, Barça are exploring alternatives. Names like Marcus Rashford, Christopher Nkunku, Bryan Zaragoza, and Antonio Nusa have emerged as fallback options.

Manchester United Monitor Jackson, Push for Martinez and Sancho Exit

Manchester United are eyeing multiple reinforcements. The club is reportedly monitoring Nicolas Jackson’s situation at Chelsea, per The Times. The Senegalese striker is facing increased competition at Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and is believed to be weighing his future.

Jackson has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances for Chelsea, but the Blues may be open to selling him if a strong offer is tabled. United face competition from AC Milan and Aston Villa.

In goal, United have opened talks with Aston Villa for Emiliano Martinez, with Diego Monroig reporting that the Argentine’s entourage is open to the move. The pursuit comes as current United No.1 Andre Onana remains injured.

Elsewhere, Juventus have reached an agreement with Jadon Sancho’s camp and are now pushing for a deal with United. According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Italian side have offered £15 million, with United still deliberating over whether to sell the England international.

Xhaka Offered Surprise Return by Sunderland

Former Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka could be set for a shock Premier League comeback, with Sunderland offering the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder a three-year contract. According to Sky Sports Belgium, the Black Cats have opened talks with the German champions over a deal worth around €10 million.

Xhaka played a pivotal role in Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga-winning season last term. Neom SC from Saudi Arabia are also reportedly interested.
