We have heard the news of the blockbuster movie suicide squad but then its quality couldn’t reach the fan’s expectation; however, as for the commercial aspect, the film was successful at the cinemas and the gain from movie tickets was enough to make any producer happy.

The Squad has kept their spirit high for 3 weeks as the number one movie in the cinemas and if it had been fortunate in just a few more steps, Suicide Squad would have become the fourth films which are persistent as No.1 in this year. Surprisingly, which dethroned the film is not another expected blockbuster but is a group of teenagers running away from a dangerous old blind man.

According to the latest statistic from Hollywood Reporter, the new horror film Don’t Breathe is expected to reach $22 million until this Sunday, after pocketing $10 million on Friday night. The king of August – Suicide Squad in its week 4 was pushed to the second rank with projected $12 million by the end of the weekend. The supervillain-centric movie would gain totally $282 million in the domestic market, and although it couldn’t stay until the end, the producer will surely be satisfied.

As for now, Don’t Breathe is enjoying its new throne and is expected to last until the end of August. With only $10 million for the budget, the film is a huge success. This movie is directed by Fede Alvarez (the director of Evil Dead) and tells the story of Rocky (Jane Levy) and his friends, who try to break into the house of a blind man for some fortune; However, they soon realize that how wrong is that decision. People seemed to prefer the new trend of the horror film, as other genres seemed not to be successful for the last few months. Other numbers for last week include Southside with you ($3M), Mechanic: Resurrection ($6-7M), Hands of Stone ($8.5M), and Hell or High Water (8.5M).

The Suicide Squad still deserves your consideration as the first official supervillain movie from DC Comics, after the plenty of huge superhero films. It is still available at the cinemas for you to come and see it. However, if you have watched it, this week is well worth looking forward to with Don’t Breathe or Hell or High Water, which might be one of the most welcome-by-critics movies of this year. Of course, as for this genre, some theater does not show it.

Suicide Squad is written and directed by David Ayer, based on original characters from DC Comics. The cast includes Will Smith (“Ali”), Jared Leto (“Dallas Buyers Club”), Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), Joel Kinnaman (“RoboCop”) and Viola Davis (“The Help”). Besides, there are Jai Courtney (“Insurgent”), Jay Hernandez (“Takers”), AdewaleAkinnuoye-Agbaje (“Thor: The Dark World”), Ike Barinholtz (“Neighbors”), Scott Eastwood (“Fury”), Cara Delevingne (“Paper Towns”), Adam Beach (“Cowboys & Aliens”), and Karen Fukuhara. The producers are Charles Roven and Richard Suckle, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Colin Wilson and Geoff Johns, who play roles as executive producers.
