2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming has just cast actor, Michael Mando, of Far Cry 3 and Better Call Saul actor.
In the 2012 game, Mando played Vaas; probably one of the greatest villains of course in recorded video game history– although it’s not clear whether he’ll be friend of foe to Spidey in the upcoming installment.
It was confirmed by the Hollywood Reporter that Mando would join Iron Man Robert Downey Jr, Spider-Man Tom Holland , and Aunt May Marisa Tomei in director Jon Watts’ 2017 superhero film.
Having already had a pretty good career in TV so far, and Mando was terrific in Better Call Saul, the spinoff of Breaking Bad– but this shaping up to be his first major role, especially in a major franchise, with a major production company.
Besides Far Cry 3, he’s only appeared in one videogame; Shaun White Snowboarding – a game which few people remember or ever knew existed.
Regardless of his short resumé of videogame roles, his characterization in Far Cry 3 was well beyond incredible. Mando made Vaas a realistic, terrorizing, and an extremely maniacal foe. A member of villainy I believe many gamers still relish to this day.
Take a look, and check out some of Michael Mando as Vaas, in his most excellent, frightening, and chilling moments below.
Set in the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War; Peter Parker’s feats are revealed in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Which will be released in cinemas July 7, 2017.
