Since Game of Thrones has captivated us from the get-go, and it’s not simply just the actresses’ tits and the CGI dragons that compel us to return week after week which make the show so epic to watch – it’s the roles the actors were cast to play.

Often times the casting has been so good it’s hard to distinguish the characters from the actors portraying them. So much so that it’s difficult to comprehend another actor filling any of the roles. Game of Thrones has already perfected the characterizations you’ve come lovingly to care for and even hate.

We’ve gotten so absorbed by all action and drama we’ve watched in the six seasons it’s been on television; especially when feeling the loss and withdrawal at the end of each season.

Yet, merely five years ago, no one knew what Jon Snow looked like, or that the Hound or Arya, and the other actors were skirmishing for their roles against hundreds of ravenous actors.

It’s hard to tell what precisely set them apart, but their auditions may demonstrate, and take you back to the show you’ve come to love so much.

These are the Game of Thrones stars auditioning here:

Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner as Arya Stark and Sansa Stark, respectively:

Scot Rory McCann as the Hound:

Miltos Yerolemou portraying Syrio Forel:

Jack Gleeson invigorating the role of Joffrey Baratheon:

And the rest of the cast:

The International Business Times revealed that the core cast of the show is making more than $400,000 per episode by the end of the sixth season.

If these actors were ever destitute, and searching for their break-out roles- the dice of fate have surely been cast.
